RECRUITING

Hunting Big-Game Brokers

THERE’S NOTHING quite like the feeling of feeling wanted.  And a new Web site called BrokerHunter.com has arrived to flatter the egos of top-brokers looking to be wooed.

Launched in May, BrokerHunter.com allows firms to connect with a variety of securities professionals, including Series 6 and 7 registered representatives, sales assistants (registered and non), analysts and managers.  The site is free for job seekers, and profiles candidates in an anonymous way, so they can’t be recognized by their current employers.

“Securities people are very quantifiable,” says founder Steve Testerman, “Whether you’re in Maine or Hawaii, gross production means the same thing.”  The site profiles brokers based on their trailing 12-months’ gross production, assets under management, registrations held and U-4.

Firms pay BrokerHunter.com 3 percent of a new hire’s trailing 12 months’ production, about half of what traditional headhunters charge, says Testerman.
